Al-Naqsa to 218News: Mechanism for withdrawal of mercenaries from Libya hasn’t been set yet

After the arrival of the UN observers to Libya; the interest in the military track has become more intensified. The Joint Military Commission, which met in Geneva and approved the plan to withdraw foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya;  will meet early next week, and it will face the challenges of the fourth point in the ceasefire agreement: withdrawal of foreign forces.

The member of the Joint Military Commission Mukhtar Al-Naqsa, told “218News” that, until now; there is no specific time to start implementing the plan to withdraw mercenaries and foreign fighters, noting that the mechanism for implementing the plan has not yet been established, and all relevant parties associated with mercenaries and foreign forces will be met; to put the appropriate mechanisms in harmony with the plan set in Geneva, which provided for a balanced, simultaneous exit.

Al-Naqsa explained that those who arrived are civilian observers who do not carry weapons, and they will be side by side with local observers, so they will work under the supervision of the Joint Military Commission, which will meet at the beginning of the week.

The issue of the file of foreign forces and mercenaries represents an important progress in the work of the Joint Military Commission, which seeks to complete its current mission despite the many difficulties and is aware that removing foreigners from Libya is a task that requires will and concerte local and international effort, before it turns to greater challenges represented in unifying the military institution, and withdrawing weapons of the armed factions.
