The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, called for the urgent and rapid opening of Tobruk Airport; in appreciation of the humanitarian, health and social conditions of the citizens of Al-Batnan in particular, and Cyrenaica in general.
In a telephone intervention with the Mayor of Tobruk Municipality, Faraj Bu Al-Khattabiya, the HoR Speaker warned of the repercussions of the worsening situation as a result of the closure of the airport, which is among three operating airports in the eastern region that closed its doors simultaneously following instructions issued by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Faraj Gaiem.
It is worth noting that the handling and services companies affiliated with the airports of the Eastern Region went on strike. A protest against the delay in the payment of financial dues, before the Prime Minister announced the payment of these dues, and the handling of the claims of workers and operating companies.
