The Ambassador of the European Union to Libya, Jose Sabadell, met with the Head of the High National Elections Commission, Emad Al-Sayeh, on Tuesday.
Sabadell said in a tweet that the meeting with Al-Sayeh focused on actual progress towards elections, and the strong support of the Libyan people and the Libyan community to hold them.
He stressed that elections are the only solution to get out of the current crisis that Libya is going through.
This meeting comes days after the commission issued the final terms of candidacy for the presidency, which sparked controversy among the country’s political parties.
