G7 foreign ministers reiterate support elections in Libya

The European Union Mission to Africa said in a tweet that the countries of the G7 industrial Group confirmed their support for the holding of free, fair and inclusive elections in Libya, starting on December 24.

This came during a meeting of representatives of the G7 countries in the English city of Liverpool, in the presence of the foreign ministers of the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Japan.

The G7 called on all actors not to undermine the political process and to abide by its results, noting the importance of the withdrawal of foreign fighters and mercenaries.
