Presidential candidates agree on three principles after meeting in Benghazi

The presidential candidates who held their meeting at the Tibesty Hotel in the center of Benghazi issued a statement in which they agreed that the national interest is above all else.

The candidates also agreed that national reconciliation is a comprehensive and irreversible national option, in addition to continuing coordination and communication as well as expanding the framework of what they described as the national initiative for unity and to respect the will of Libyans.

The delegation of candidates, who arrived in Benghazi Tuesday to meet with candidate Khalifa Haftar, included “Fathi Bashagha, Ahmed Maiteeq, Aref Al-Nayed, Abdel Majid Othman, Al-Sharif Al-Wafi and Mohammed Al-Muntasir.”
