Libyan Prime Minister’s motorcade comes under fire in Tripoli

The convoy of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, came under direct fire on Thursday early hours.

An informed source added to 218News that the shooting targeted the motorcade near the Bab Tajoura area on the road leading to the Al-Nawfalyin area, noting that the damage was limited to direct damage to Dbeibha’s car, while he did not suffer any injuries.

The source revealed that the area in which the accident took place is controlled by certain brigades, which leads to accusing them of responsibility, negligence or complicity.

The presidential candidate, Suleiman Al-Bayoudi, had published a post, on his Facebook page, late last night, stating that the Prime Minister of the Unity Government had been subjected to an assassination attempt.
