Egypt, Germany see eye to eye on settling Libya’s crisis

Egypt and Germany agreed on the importance of joint efforts between the two sides in order to implement the decisions issued by the Berlin track with the aim of settling the situation in Libya in a comprehensive and integrated manner that addresses all aspects of the Libyan crisis, thus contributing to the elimination of terrorism, preserving state resources and national institutions, and helping to restore security and stability in the country.

These remarks came during a meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in Cairo, where they discussed a number of files of joint interest for the two countries, especially at the economic, commercial, investment and military levels.

The official spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed developments related to a number of regional issues of common interest, as it was agreed to continue coordination and consultation between Egypt and Germany in order to confront the existing challenges in the region, especially the Palestinian Cause.
