Egypt, EU agree to support political settlement in Libya

The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and the Chairman of the European Council Charles Michel agreed on the need to continue supporting the path of a political settlement of the crisis in Libya.

These remarks came during a meeting between Al-Sisi and Michel in the Belgian capital, Brussels, where they discussed coordination between the two sides on a number of important regional issues in international forums, including the situation in Libya.

The two sides also agreed on the importance of strengthening channels of consultation regarding the situation in Libya.

Al-Sisi arrived in Brussels on Tuesday in order to participate in the African-European summit, which is scheduled to be held at the headquarters of the European Union for two days.
