Newspaper: Pressure on HoR members to fail session for approving Bashagha’s government

Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported that there was pressure exerted on a number of members of the House of Representatives (HoR) to discourage them from attending the session expected on Monday so they won’t be able to participate in the vote to approve the Bashagha government.

The upcoming session comes amid the mobilization of some armed formations inside the capital, Tripoli, coinciding with Bashagha’s meeting with a number of Misurata leaders, in addition to the city’s leaders and social components.

Observers fear that the dilemma of the executive authority’s division will be repeated again, and that it will move away from the demand for elections, which were awaited by nearly 2.8 million citizens who registered to vote, waiting for the division to end and the creation of a unified body that would lead the country to safety.
