Al-Kabir, US Treasury officials discuss combating financing terrorism and financial crimes

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, and his accompanying team discussed with the Office of Combating the Financing of Terrorism and Financial Crimes at the US Treasury Department the latter’s support for the Central Bank of Libya in the field of combating terrorist financing and combating money laundering and financial crimes, in addition to the projects adopted by the Central Bank of Libya to develop the Libyan Financial Information Unit concerned with combating terrorist financing and combating money laundering and financial crimes.

This came during the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the US Treasury Department in the US capital, Washington, on Tuesday.

Al-Kabir is on a visit to the capital, Washington, during which he met with a number of US finance and treasury officials, as well as officials in the International Monetary Fund; to support the projects of the Central Bank of Libya and to discuss ways to support the Libyan Financial Institution.
