The official spokesman for the Libyan government, Othman Abdeljalil, said in an exclusive statement to “218News” that there is positive cooperation from the international community, led by the United States; in order to reach a comprehensive agreement that defines the features of the next stage.
Abdeljalil added that there is a consensus to support the constitutional process and to expedite the holding of simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections, noting that handing over power is only a sham procedure.
It is worth noting that the Libyan Prime Minister, Fathi Bashagha, issued a decision, on Friday, to assign Abdeljalil as an official spokesman for the government, in addition to his duties as Minister of Health in the Libyan government.
