A diplomatic source confirmed to 218News that UN advisor Stephanie Williams will soon be preparing to travel to the United States to discuss the Libyan situation with the US administration.
Williams has recently intensified her meetings with a number of officials and ambassadors in Libya, the last of which was with the Head of High Council of State Khaled Al-Mashri, Italian Ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Buccino, and French Special Envoy to Libya.
The position of the UN adviser to Libya had been a matter of controversy in the Russian and American positions, as the Russian side expressed its opposition to Williams’ continuation of her mission in Libya and accused her repeatedly of representing the American interest in Libya.
