NOC source to 218News: Dahra oilfield to resume production next December

An official source in the National Oil Corporation (NOC) told 218News that the Dahra oilfield, 150 km southwest of Ras Lanuf,” will return to production for the first time in 9 years by December 2022, and will add 10,000 barrels per day in the first phase, indicating that the percentage of completion in maintenance and infrastructure development works reached 60%.

Speaking to 218News on Saturday, the source added that the Dahra field, which is operated and supervised by the Waha Oil Company, could reach 120.000 barrels per day at the end of 2023 if it received direct funding from the National Oil Corporation, which is waiting for government support in turn.

The Dahra oilfield was subjected to a large-scale sabotage operation carried out by ISIS fighters in 2014, which left it out of work and production, and this affected the levels of oil pumping to the Sidra port.
