Source to 218News: Operations at Al-Sarir oilfield halted

A source working in Al-Sarir oil field stated, in an exclusive statement to 218News, the suspension of work in the field operated by the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, which produces 125,000 barrels per day, at the request of protesters against the policy of the unity government headed by Abdul Hamid Dbiebah.

The source pointed out that production began to decline gradually, as of last Friday, until the pumping of crude oil towards the port of Hariga stopped.

According to official data, general oil production in Libya fell to 600,000 barrels because of the closures by protesters in a number of ports and fields since last April.
