Tunisia’s elections reflect loss of trust in politicians

Tunisia’s parliamentary elections saw on Sunday a shy participation, especially from women and youngsters, as this time there were no long queues of voters everywhere as there were in 2014, which reflects the loss of trust between people and political parties that haven’t found proper solutions to the 8-year-long economic crisis in the country.

The votes calculation started in Tunisia amid heavy security measures as the electoral process did not pass without some slightly-noticed violations, according to observers.

Tunisians are now awaiting the announcement of official results on October 10 and the final ones on October 13, amid expectations that the parliament construction would be a bit untidy with some many small parties and independents making their way to the parliament.
